Adalyn Kay got to meet her Great-Grandma Lila for the very first time. They both fell in love with each other as soon as their eyes met. Adalyn was so smiley and made the cutest little sounds as she talked with her Grandma. Neither one of them wanted to leave each other, what a priceless moment they shared. The joys of keeping your children busy while trying to be productive. (now I know why my mom had me label so many food storage cans) I haven't made fresh wheat bread since before Adalyn was born -- pretty sad I know, but hit a sale before she was born and stocked the freezer. I decided it was time to get back in the habit -- so gave it a try while Mace was at preschool. Keston loved being the big helper and Sissy was so good to watch us and fall to sleep in her swing. Well, needless to say I didn't finish my three batches in time and Mace was pretty upset that he missed out on grinding the wheat -- so had to come up with a quick job....writing labels on the bags for the bread...that was perfect! Mace was so excited to use permanent markers and wrote each letter as I said them as I finished my last batch. Then he copied the letters to the next bags, this task got pretty monotonous quickly -- since after the second bag---he informed me he was only going to write one more. "This one I am going to use my decoration letters mom." Sure bud---what ever letters you want --- I just thought they were too cute, I love this big helper :)

Mace Loves Me!

Yesterday the day began with both boys fighting over their sister -- who gets to hold her, choose her clothes, choose her bows, bath her, and make her smile are all daily competitions at our home. The boys just can not get enough of their sweet baby sissy! We had to take a picture of Ady in her first flower headband that Mace chose for her to wear.

(Notice her shirt says, "Daddy Loves Me")

Keston was so proud of me when he saw her flower ... "Good job mom! You 'grewd' a flower on her head!" That was enough to get me and Mace laughing this morning!

The day went on, and of course, Ady has to poop or spit up through at least one outfit a day -- so after changing her -- and bow too (by Keston this time) -- the boys were ready for food. Adalyn patiently waited in her bouncy chair and went to sleep while I made dinner. She looked so cute so I, of course, had to snap a picture. That is when Mace noticed her bib -- it said "Daddy loves me" just like her previous shirt. Well, Mace just lost it in full on tears! "Why doesn't anything say Mace loves me --- cause I love her the most!" Usually we are not that emotional -- but hunger and an interrupted nap will do it for Mace --- and it was a justifiable argument -- why should daddy be so special :)

Mace proceeded to cry and came to me with a permanent marker, yes he knows where I keep my art supplies. "Move her bib mom, move her bib." Well, after calming him down and finding a white onesie that permanent markers show up great on -- he created his Sissy the most beautiful onesie that I am sure I will have to pull out in years to come to remind the both of them that they do indeed love each other! And now Ady knows that ...

Blessing Day...

Adalyn Kay was blessed by her daddy on March 1, 2009.

John gave such a beautiful blessing and had me in tears. What a special day for Ady, as we enjoyed it will all of our family. She wore my pink blessing dress that I was blessed in and a beautiful headband from her Aunt Sid in California. She looked like a little princess and the boys couldn't get over her dress that was 'way tooo big' :). I only captured one half smile on this day --- Ady just wasn't herself as our company started leaving. I ended up being up with her the entire night on Sunday and went to the Dr. early Monday morning to find she had an ear infection and we were almost admitted for RSV. Boy did I feel like a terrible mother, I just thought she got loved and held too much and was starting a cold! We got an antibiotic for the infection and scheduled daily visits to our Dr. to monitor her oxygen levels and temperature. She has been doing so much better and we are finally getting her real smiles back as of today! We love you Adalyn!

Still Loving Our Sissy!

It has now been 9 weeks since we brought our sweet little Adalyn home from the hospital -- and the boys still fight over her every morning! I thought the newness would wear off by now, but they both light up when they see their sissy come into the room. Now that Adalyn is smiling, they fight over that too. If she gives one of them a smile and not the other -- they get all upset. She sure doesn't have to worry about a lack of attention in this home. I have loved watching the boys sing her songs and try and make her smile -- what a lucky little girl to have two big brothers who love her so much!

I can't forget to write about our first Dr. visit for Adalyn at her 2 week appointment. I took Keston with me and he immediately assumed the role of 'Big Brother' -- protecting his baby sissy. As the Dr. examined Adalyn, Keston got right up on the table too. As the Dr. checked Adalyn's ears, eyes, and such -- Keston would proudly say, "That her tummy, that her hand, etc." He was proud that he knew all about his sister. When it came time for pricking her foot for blood samples -- Keston was right in the nurses working space too. When Adalyn started crying -- Keston looked right at the nurse and said, "Her not like you! She likes my mommy!" The nurse smiled and proceeded to get Adalyn a bandaid and give her back to me --- Keston was so proud that the nurse got the right bandaid --"Yeah, her likes PINK! Good Job!" I think the nurse felt much better knowing she did something right for Keston:)

Our Baby Sissy is Here!

We are so excited to welcome Adalyn Kay Moen to our family! She is so PRECIOUS and SWEET. Adalyn joined our family on December 31st at 12:02 a.m. --- 7 lbs and 20.5 inches long --- what a LITTLE DOLL!

Just a few pictures of the many LOVES she is receiving at our home. Grandma Susie says we should have brought home two of Adalyn, since she is kind of hard for Mace and Keston to share! Everytime Keston passes by Adalyn, he has to kiss her and say, "she's so CUTE!" What a lot of LOVE she has brought to our home already...

Well, I finally did it---yep, cut off all Keston's baby curls! I figured I better get it done before Papa Dave came to visit new baby sister --- I wouldn't put it past my dad to have Keston's hair all shaved off:) Oh, and Grandma Bernice will be sooo excited to see these pictures too, I think she was the most excited to find out I was having a girl, so I would finally get rid of his curls! But mommy loved them and it was hard for me to let him grow out of them...

I have always trimmed his hair myself, but after one attempt and the kicking and screaming---I thought I would let someone else do it. Keston didn't say a word or move at all --- but his face is priceless...I don't think he really enjoyed his first real barber experience:)

I warned the girl cutting his hair that I may start crying---but was suprised that I was fine with the whole thing. She lifted him up to look in the mirror when he was finished and Keston's eyes just sparkled as he looked in the mirror when the torture was finally over...."I COOL LIKE MACE!" he said.

He is sooo proud of his big boy spikes now that are just like Daddy and Mace. Mace was so proud of him that "you're not kind of a girl any more---you are my twin!" At least I still have pictures of the curls, it is amazing how grown up a hair cut can make a little boy....now he is ready to be a big brother and he can't wait!

I can not believe how quickly time is passing! I have definitely been a blog slacker, but we are all doing well and so excited for Christmas and baby Sissy at our house...here are a few pictures of the boys helping me get ready for baby....

I felt guilty painting the baby's room with out painting the boys room too. So we moved all the boys stuff into the baby's room while we painted their walls blue and tan...and then on to this mess of a project. I don't even know what color these walls were---but yuck and dark. I was really ready for a little pink in the house:)

I figured if you were washing one carseat, might as well wash all three. Well that was tons of fun with two little helpers---notice we are still in pjs! Washing carseat and testing the carseat weight limit...

We are so excited and can't wait to post pictures of our new little bundle and snuggle her all day long! The boys are already fighting who gets to hold her first:)

November SNOW Days!

We woke up to tons of SNOW on Wednesday morning and the boys couldn't wait until after school to get all bundled to PLAY. We didn't get our leaves up before the wet weather, so Mace was pretty disgusted with our dirty snowman -- so we made leaf monsters instead:) They only lasted a few minutes before being wrestled and broken down! I wanted to sculpt a snow turkey -- but Mommy's creations never made it too far with my demolition dudes around! Fun times!

We enjoyed Halloween in St. George with Grandma and Grandpa. Keston wasn't too in to the whole pumpkin carving stuff -- he just enjoyed his one on one time with Grandma. School Days!

The boys have been pretending to go to school for awhile now---they both put on their backpacks and go somewhere in the house and wait for their teacher (me) to come and teach them something. (hopefully this will last for many years to come:))

I love this picture with them sticking their tongues out---totally captures how Keston looks up to his big brother and copies EVERTTHING he does. We have so many first day of school pictures since there is preschool orientation, the actual first day of preschool for Mace, and then Keston's first day of joy school that a few of us moms are rotating in the neighborhood. They both love going to school --- but the best part is when it is time to pick them up---they get so excited to see each other again. Definitely one of those happy Motherhood Moments!

Yes---we are so excited to be having a GIRL addition to our family! The boys got to pick a toy for their new BABY SISTER and watch her give them a 'thumbs up' in the ultrasound:) Mace said to the Dr. "I was right, I knewed she is a GIRL! Cause I already have a boy baby." Mommy is excited to have a little pink in the house and Daddy is hoping she will mellow out her brothers! January 1st here we come!!!

Wow! I have finally finished my 12 designs for the year in the 5x20 size and I definitely couldn't have done it with out my neices---thank you AuBrey and McKayla for all your help watching the boys and last minute stitching and chalking help to get the store samples out. These are my last designs with Cedarberry and I am so excited to begin our new venture as HEART 2 HEART STITCHES! The site is still a work in progress. It has been a great learning experience for me with Cedarberry and I am just excited to be on my own time frame and schedule. That will work best being a mommy:) Happy Stitching to everyone!

Back 2 School BBQ!

We thought this would be a fun tradition to start with all of our nieces and nephews that are here in Utah---so this is with my family and I have yet to get John's scheduled (I won't make it by the time they are back in school). We had the kids come dressed in their favorite back to school outfit and played school time bingo to win prizes they could use in school---and then of course had tons of food! We had so much food that we called John's three brothers that live here to come and help with the left overs! So fun and the best surprise ever was that Grandma Susie and Papa Dave took a big drive to get here just for dinner! The kids were so excited---thanks for the surprise mom and dad----I guess they will come if we send cute invites:) Here are some pictures of our fun!!

World's Best Daddy!

Once again this post is behind---just come to expect that from me:) John was able to go to the Father and Son's camp out with our ward on July 25th. He was just planning on taking Mace, since we thought two might be a little much to handle. When Keston's eyes filled with the biggest tears ever and he managed to say "I go camp out too!" ---He couldn't leave him behind! As we got them all packed up, I threw John the camera...just in case he had time to take some pictures.

Well, he sure surprised me, since both boys came back in one piece and he even had tons of pictures of their adventures! Mace and Keston were so proud of how dirty they came home and we are still talking about the water and the huge tree and the food that was JUST FOR BOYS!

The cool double rainbow we enjoyed after doing yardwork when the boys got home...

The following Sunday, John had to take the boys by himself, (which was his first time)----while I went to the Developmental Center with the YW. As I left at 7:30 in the morning---John said, "are you sure you can't take Keston?"---Nope was my reply. Anyway---he ended up to church 10 min. early in time for the soft seats! Wow, amazed again!

Then the following Friday, he had the boys again while I spent the night at girls camp---and once again, when I came home they were all smiles and hardly missed their mom at all. So what does all this prove? I definitely need to leave the kids home with their amazing daddy more often:)

Kooper is the proud big brother of the darling little, Kohl, in the below post. Mace and Keston just love Kooper and they couldn't wait to see him after our long drive to Idaho. I had to take a break from holding that cute new baby to play in the dirt with the boys and check out Kooper's new sandbox, baby kitty, and Grandpa's feedlot!

Now you can see why my boys never want to come home, because after this---there was fun at grandma's house! We also got to go to the Twin Falls Temple Open House---we are going again with Daddy next month, so we will write about that in a later post with pictures---but fun, fun, fun!!

Yes, I have to have a special post to brag about my cute little nephew! Well, my brother Matthew (Bubba) and his wife Roxy had their little one on July, 17th -- weighing-in at a healthy 8 lbs. 15 oz.! Wow, what a trooper Roxy! The boys and I dashed to Idaho for a few days to welcome this little one into our family! Such a little doll and my pictures definitely do him no justice! I could have held him for hours --- just perfectly mellow and how can you resist those chunky cheeks! We love you KOHL McKELL!

4TH OF JULY WEEKEND...

We took a fun little trip to Logan to visit our friends over the weekend---and of course the Cache Valley Cruise-In was this weekend too, so we kept very busy!

Ryan's Park with Jess and her boy's Dallin and Matthew---this is the only picture that I could capture all four of them together! They had so much fun playing with their little buddies. Mace loved this park and still talks about the monkey bars that are just his size!

Swimming once or twice a day was definitely their favorite, since they have a paranoid mom that doesn't go swimming with two little dare devils---that have no fear of water! But, I did feel better when Mace said, "I think I like my pool best mom." Nothing like a kiddie pool right!
We had fun visiting Jenny and Crae for a bit--I used to babysit Jaycie and Allie when we lived in Logan and the kids played together everyday. We sure miss them---but all four of the kids didn't really seem to remember each other--but enjoyed making new friends with each other:) Mace talked about Santa bringing him some jeeps just like Jaycie and Allie's---but without the flowers of course---silly guys!

Megen and Chris cooked a delicious dutch oven dinner for us and Keri and Bryan before the big Logan Fireworks show. Keri's little Bree had to put up with all boys---good thing we had a few pink glow sticks to make up for it! The kids were so excited and running all over the place---so I failed at capturing everyone together...Broden, Bree, Tate, Carson, Mace, and Keston.

We went to visit the Neal's in their new home, which is absolutely beautiful---Mindy has such a decorating touch! We played on their blow up slide that was so much fun----can you tell which kids belong to me? Give you a hint---they are the really white ones:) We had to spread them out, since they were so white compared to Taydem, Texie, and Tyker!

Visiting Grandma and Grandpa Greene and Stacy and Maggie...

Visiting Rich, Melinda, Alexis, and Kolbe. We definitely miss our backyard neighbors---and the kids felt right at home helping themselves to the toys. We didn't have a fence between our yards---so we always played together. Mace thought it was pretty cool, because when we moved, we now have an Alexis right next door again!

We were finally able to track down Dan, Trudy, Baylee, and Max for a quick visit. Baylee was always my big helper---anytime we were outside, she would come across the street and play with the boys---boy has she grown up!

To close out our trip of fun and friends we met up with a few of John's brothers for the Cache Valley Cruise-In---John was definitely in Heaven! Thanks to everyone who let us crash in and visit!! We sure miss you guys...

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MACE McKELL!!!

Well Mace turned FOUR on June 23rd---so I am over a month behind, but we had some fun photos to share from his special day!

His birthday was on Monday, but we celebrated at the Zoo on Saturday and met his little buddy Ashlin there. We had so much fun before the heat got to us---Meagan was such a trooper being 8 months pregnant!

John was the photographer at the zoo today, which was a nice little break for me, but once one animal turned on him, I guess he thought it would be funny to get all backsides on film. He was laughing when he told me --that he about got one of me and Meagan walking in front of him----GOOD THING HE THOUGHT TWICE!!!

Enjoying Birthday cupcakes at the zoo by the snake slide---definitely their favorite part! We also ran into Chip and Kenna and their darling kids at the zoo---we haven't seen them forever and it was fun to bump into them -- small little world!

The Monson cousins came to visit Mace on his birthday---so more Baseball BIRTHDAY CUPCAKES!! YUMMY!!

TIMP CAVE...

We are trying to get out as a family more on Saturday, since we spend way too much time in the office and there is so much to see around us! Saturday is now the day of the week that Mace counts down too. We decided to attempt the Timpanogos Cave for John's Father's day activity on Saturday the 14th. We were so proud of the boys and how well they did up the hike. Mace nearly walked the whole way up by himself. Mace stopped at every bench to rest and told everyone who passed us a rule or two, since we watched the movie before climbing and it gives you all the safety tips. He was a 3 year old tour guide! Keston was the smart one and quickly fell asleep after the first 5 minutes up the trail, so John got an extra good work out! He woke up for the cave and still managed to hitch a ride on the way down---so daddy was sore for a week! The scenery was absolutely breath taking on the way up and down---and the cave was an awesome experience as well. As the tour guide was pointing out the different stalagmites and stalactites, Keston blurts out "Poop mom--POOP!". Everyone got a good little laugh and I have to admit, the one we were looking at did resemble poop. You gotta love those little ones!

SUNNY ST. GEORGE WITH GRANDMA AND GRANDPA

We love Grandma and Grandpa---thank you for the wonderful vacation!

We had so much fun enjoying a long weekend with Grandma and Grandpa Moen in sunny St. George. Pop likes to make sure we check the sky each day---and yep, never a cloud in the sky. We had fun hiking, visiting the city center park, swimming, playing baseball in the backyard, playdough, feeding the ducks and much much more! Mom and Dad were even kind enough to tend the boys while John and I went to the St. George Temple---which was a first for us. We wish we could come visit more often for sure:)

I know, I know so far behind:) But we did have so much fun in May---so we will try and catch up a bit....

The boys and I got to spend a few days in Idaho this month. We always love visiting our Grandma and Grandpa! The boys got to help Papa Dave test drive his Gator for the feed lot---I am sure it will still be in the garage when we go and visit next time. My dad looked like a big kid on that thing with the biggest grin---I guess that is motivation for mowing the lawn!

We had a fun visit from my friend Britney, from Nevada, and her cute kids Caden and Maylia. The kids were excited to break in the swimming pool for the first time this summer...SPLASH, SPLASH, SPLASH!
I couldn't capture a picture of Mace and Caden---they were always on the move! Don't you just love our snow capped mountains...

I used to joke with my pediatrician about getting Keston a helmet. He would always have bruises all over his face of all places. Just when I thought to myself, wow, Keston hasn't had any big falls lately----well spoke to soon. Here are some pictures of our little bruiser.

#1--Huge bruise on head---attempting the standing long jump (or something like it) out of the sandbox and catching his feet on the boards, then planting his head right on the curbing----but hey, he didn't drop his shovel:)

#2--Skinned nose---attempting to fly like Superman off the front steps--lucky with this one, because it could have been a lot worse.

#3--Green and Black tones on face---his attempt at putting on watercolor makeup:)

What a kid--he always keeps me on my toes for sure!

Backyard Campout! Mace and Keston look forward to Friday night and always try and talk daddy into a campout. We are lucky they are so easy to please sleeping in the backyard.

So yesterday as Mace was eating dinner he made me smile by reflecting on our Saturday adventure, he says---"So mom, you remember that President Hinckley place? That was Heaven?" ---answering his own question,"yea, it was cuz' I saw the sky and it was beautiful!"

I am trying to be a better person with going with the flow----but I really struggle when my plan is interrupted. I love my Saturdays to be filled with cleaning and working in the yard, so I am caught up for the week. Well, the Elders Quorum had an activity planned on Saturday and John had to send around emails, so I figured he would go----but I didn't plan on the rest of us going. Well, Saturday morning we got up early and got all the yard work done and John kept asking if we would go----I could tell he wanted us to, so we quickly got cleaned up. All the other families in the ward had Saturday plans as well---so when no one but the presidency shows up they decided to cancel. I was relieved---now I could finish my "TO DO" list! We started to head home and Mace started to cry-----"but, I wanted to see President Hinckley's dirt!" John and I both looked at each other and smiled---how can you say no to that. So I quickly grabbed our prophet book and we read stories of President Hinckley and President McKay.

It ended up to be a wonderful day at the SLC cemetery and then a quick stop at temple square to see the temple and beautiful flowers.The boys gave John and I a work out, since both of us were pushing empty strollers just trying to keep up with their excitement!

To end our time at temple square---Mace looked a little disappointed and I asked him what was wrong...
"I didn't find any DANDELIONS!" He was so upset that he didn't find any of his favorite flowers on the temple grounds. I told him we would have to let our Bishop know since he helps with the temple grounds! So, it you see a Dandelion flower bed next year at temple square---you will know it is because of Mace!

To end the entire day---Mace says, "What's today mom?" He is really into the days of the week so I said "Saturday." That wasn't good enough for him---"No, what kind of day is today?" I guess meaning a holiday or something, so I said, "Well, it is a FAMILY DAY." He followed with, "I like these kind of days."

So lesson learned for scheduled mommy---to be a little more relaxed and spontaneous----and be willing to stop and smell the flowers a little more. Oh, the many lessons we learn from our children.

I was raised in a family where we all worked and played together and I cherish all of those family memories. So, I have to post this one for my mom and dad---sure love you and thank you for teaching me how to work hard!

Mace has started to be such a big helper. He is always asking, "Do you have a job for me, mom?" I just smile and always give him something to do---he is now able to do so many things on his own and it sure makes him proud--- One of his favorite jobs is unloading the silverware in the dishwasher---he can match all the utensils and I let him do the butter knives---which he thinks is so cool. He saves all the sharp stuff for me and then takes all the dishes out for me to put in the high cupboards and then proceeds to add the soap for the next load----love this big helper of mine!

Some of the other jobs Mace loves to do:
*Bake bread and sweet treats:)
*Put wheat in the wheat grinder---because it sounds like a jet plane:)
*Make his bed (well, put all his animals on top of his bed----that is what he thinks "making his bed" means)
*Anything in the Garden (he worked a straight hour by my side loading all my weeds I pulled into his dump truck and then dumping it in the green waste! Planting all the pea and carrot seeds in the ground)
*Washing ANYTHING with the hose
*Pushing the vacuum around (for a little while until he informs that he needs a break :))
*Great at sorting toys and always tells John that he put things up wrong
*Planting flowers and picking my boquets of DANDYLIONS:)
*Awesome HANGER HUNTER (when I am ironing, I can always count on him to count the perfect amount of hangers for the shirts I have ironed)
*When the dryer dings----he unloads everything to the chair so he can clean out the lint:)
*Sorting laundry into color piles---and he will usually correct me once or twice:)
*Office -- paper shreader!
*Stitchery designer assistant... (I was just informed I need to make something "COOL"----flowers just don't do it for Mace, so we are working on a tractor and a stack of sport balls---he loves to draw when mommy draws:)
*Reading books to Keston (not really reading yet, but he will tell Keston all about every picture----I love listening to this. One of those Motherhood Moments!)

BOYS WILL BE BOYS!

Today was a crazy Sunday as John and I did final preparations for our lessons, went over Mace's first primary talk, and finally found the lost Sunday shoe! We managed to make it to 9:00 church just as the opening prayer was being said-------BUT, we were there and all completely dressed--- Whewww! I don't know how people do it with more kids!

I whispered Mace's talk to him a couple times during sacrament meeting and he would smile "yeah mom, you got it right!" He was so proud of me:) Primary came and Mace did so good on his talk. I always worry a bit---because you never know what will come out of his mouth! Here is a picture of him holding his Prophet Puppets we made for his talk---I will try and figure out how to post a video of his talk for our grandmas!

Well, after all of that, church still isn't over and you know there is more to come with my crazy boys....
AFTER YOUNG WOMEN'S I WAS TALKING TO A FRIEND IN THE HALL AS MY KIDS ROUND THE CORNER---"MOMMY!" KESTON ALMOST STOPS DEAD IN HIS TRACKS AS HE POINTS---"WHAT'S THAT"---(POINTING TO MY FRIEND'S PREGNANT BELLY:)) HE WAS ALMOST HYPNOTIZED AS I TOLD HIM, "HER BABY IS IN THERE"----HE JUST KEPT STARING --- AND WE, OF COURSE, KEPT TALKING.

THE NEXT THING I KNOW, HE IS LYING ON THE FLOOR ALONG WITH MACE---LOOKING UNDER HER DRESS!!! "ANT FIN IT"---AS TO SAY "CAN'T FIND THE BABY"----TALK ABOUT EMBARASING!!!KESTON JUST COULDN'T FIGURE OUT WHY IN THE WORLD SHE WOULD CARRY HER BABY UNDER HER DRESS! WELL, THAT WAS A GREAT LAUGH FOR US TODAY AND SPURRED L-O-T-S OF CONVERSATION AT OUR HOME:)

Well, you know me, just a little paranoid that this could offend----and I wanted to teach my kids that we DO NOT look up dresses----so we made little pink cupcakes for my friend and took them over to appologize. But that only spurred more conversation---since they are having the baby tomorrow and Mace just can't figure out how they will ever get that BABY OUT! But, when they do, the baby will not be hungry---because she will have cupcakes to eat----and here is my messy Keston licking the beaters!

SUPER HERO AUNT!

John and I celebrated our 7 year anniversary in March and my sister Jen watched the boys for us. While the boys had their sleep over at Aunt Jen's she managed to spoil them. Her little boy Jaxon, loves to hand down his toys and clothes to Mace----one of which was the cool Superman PJs Mace is wearing below. Well, Jen figured Keston needed some too, so she went out and found him some. For the next few days, the Superman PJs were worn all day! Mace was so proud that his little brother could be a super hero like him. Here they are flexing their SUPER MUSCLES! Now, that is not the funny part....as they were putting on their Superman PJs one night ----Mace looked at me and my PJs. "Don't worry mom, Aunt Jen is good at finding them." Meaning she would be able to find some for me and John----so look what you started Aunt Jen! We sure love you and thank you for the PJs!

Okay, I know April is half over --- but here is a little about our memories from March...

My friend Meagan took us to the Discovery museum again, she is so good to get me out of the house! My boys were all over the place! I felt like I had a huge workout---with both of them going in opposite directions all day. This is the only picture that captured all of them together--and not one of them is looking at me---I guess you just can't compete with Elmo and Friends! ----Thanks again for the fun Meags and Ashlin...

Lots of fun Easter Egg hunts! We had a little hunt here at our house with Jen, Jami, and Kody's kids on Saturday morning and then another fun hunt at Aunt Kay and Uncle Wade's home on Sunday...

Easter morning was crazy with 9:00 church! We might have to tell the Easter Bunny to come on Saturday next year! Mace was so impressed that the Easter Bunny even knew Daddy lived at our house and was so impressed with daddy's basket:) And then there is Keston----he never stays away from the camera when you try and get a picture----so here is another close up! FEBRUARY FUN!

We usually don't have so much fun in one month---but our February seemed to be packed full of fun! I guess that is why I have been a bit of a blogg slacker!

My Ricks Roomie---Meagan, took us to the Gateway Museum. The boys had so much fun with Ashlin making sculptures, driving cars, playing in the waterplay area, playing house, and just being in a new place. A great spot for fun in the winter months----Thanks Meagan and Ashlin!

Then the boys and I drove to Burley and had fun joining one of mom's stitching classes! It was fun to have a little adult conversation for a weekend. I love the below picture----Mace loves Grandma Susie's fireplace and is always wanting to read by it----he got Grandpa in the cozy chair as well!

KESTON'S BIRTHDAY! Keston turned 2 on February 14th! He loved his car cake and cupcakes----we had fun sharing them with Uncle Bubba, Aunt Roxy, and Kooper since they were in town! Keston is pretty accident prone and at his 2 year check-up the doctor and I talked about investing in a permanent helmet for the kid! We haven't had serious head injuries, but he ALWAYS has at least one bruise on his head at a time. Keston loves to run and jump---and be OUTSIDE, he is all B-O-Y! He is such a joy in our home and has now started talking in sentences too---well, his own sort of sentences. Just this past week, Keston was talking and Mace started laughing and said, "Mom, Keston is talking ENGLISH!"

We also celebrated Valentine's Day on Keston's birthday. What an overload of sweets! I will have to come up with some new traditions for sure---my house was CRAZY! The boys had fun decorating and filling their Valentine's boxes this year---we even made one for Daddy.

DISNEYLAND! We took a weekend trip to Disneyland with my whole family on the 21st-24th! It was so much fun to see everyone and just play for a few days. It was very nerve racking to leave all the businesses unattended, but was well worth the stress. Thank you Grandma Susie and Papa Dave for such a wonderful trip! Mace wants to go to Disneyland tomorrow, so I told him to start saving. He tells his dad, when his applesauce jar is full of money, then we get to go again! Too cute!

John got sick when we got home----and is still under the weather, but back at work---so we are all just trying to stay healthy now and can't wait for warmer weather and GREEN GRASS!

Pattern Sneak Peek 2 and Easle Orders!

I also found the perfect easle for this size of frame! The easle is very heavy duty and goes high up the back supporting the frame really well. I wanted something sturdy for an entry table that would with stand my two boys! Anyway, they are typically $27 with tax included----but I am able to get them for $20 even---with preorders. So, let me know if you are interested by FEBRUARY 12TH at the latest. I will make a drop off in Burley the first week or so in March---and any exits on the way:) I won't be shipping any since they are so odd sized and heavy---shipping would probably cost more than the easle. Our Dear Prophet...President Gordon B. Hinckley

Sunday evening came as a little shock for me. My heart ached, but was filled with both sorrow and joy as I envisioned our dear Prophet joined with his darling wife, Savior, and Father. I could just picture his huge grin and some smart comment he would make as he entered---"well, its about time" or something of that manner.

I had just put Mace and Keston down for the evening when I received a phone call from my mother about 8:00 p.m. I decided I would go and talk to mace since he was still awake in His bed---mostly becuase I just needed one of his super hugs! I hugged him as I started to cry when I told him President Hinckley died. "Why mom?" was his straight forward question---I told him his body was tired and he had worked hard and now he would be in Heaven. "I know thats a good place huh." We continued our conversation and then Mace said, "I can pray." (referring to my tears and he thought I was scared----when we have bad dreams I have taught him to pray for protection from our Father in Heaven) So, I said sure and let him pray. It was so cute as he blessed heaven, and our propet died, and his spirit. When he finished---he looked up at me and said, he has MatR (my brother's dog who died)---I said yes he does have MatR with him. And that thought seemed to make everything fine---because everybody needs a good dog righ:)

We love our dear prophet and we still pray for him daily---Mace blesses his spirit in Heaven. As I listend and watched any coverage on TV and heard our prophet bear his testimony---I was filled with a desire to be better and do better in every aspect of my life. You can not listen to his words and not know what he speaks is true and of God. What an amazing example of our faith to the world. We love him and will miss him. Little Stinker!

Okay this was too funny today and I had to write it down...
I just finished getting the kids lunch ready and getting them up to the table, so I ran outside in my T-shirt and crocs to get the mail. Got the mail and ran back to the door and as I turn the door handle ---it doesn't budge! Mace had locked me out of the house! I expected him to be standing by the door ready to open it---but no. I rang and rang the door bell and then tried all the doors----and of course they are all locked---because I have a fetish about that. Anyway I am freezing cold---stomping through the snow drifts to access our hidded key----boy was I upset! I could hear Keston crying for me and still could not see Mace through the window---so getting a little nervous and more frustrated with Mace by the minute. Anyway, finally get the door open and ready to scold Mace----but where did I find him....down stairs on the potty ---WAITING FOR ME to wipe his bum! He couldn't get the door---because he needed help----so needless to say he got out of that one pretty good. And as I tried to explain that it was dangerous for him to lock me out ----all he could tell me about that he REALLY went poop! There's a three-year-old for ya! Moral of the story---make sure you have a couple of keys hidden outside and at least one dead bolt has a keyhole lock---:) have a wonderful day!

I just had a wonderful weekend at our Stake Women's conference and have so much that I want to share---but still typing up my thoughts and feelings, so I will share more later. But had to share this little thought that Emily Watts shared---since Monday is our laundry day---or one of them!

Yes, we are die hard JAZZ fans---even when our team is on a loosing streak! The boys love going to the games when we get a chance with Papa Dave and Grandma Susie----but we have just as much fun in our own home. Mace wears his "Memo" jersey---(because it has a number three) and Keston wears "Boozer". We usually pop popcorn and the boys watch the game and play their own little Jazz game with their hoop. Well, lately Daddy gets a little frustrated with the players on the team with our little loosing streak---so I am not sure if this spurred Mace's concern or what---but today at luch as we were blessing the food---Mace, my three year old, was saying the prayer and adds, "Bless the Jazz that they will be STRONG and HEALTHY and GOOD..." I had to really work at keeping a straight face with that one ---- so yes, we are praying for the UTAH JAZZ!

Chalking Demo...

Okay, here it is finally. This is the "Believe Tree" pattern we are going to chalk. Notice that the pictures are a little shaky---chalking with right hand and taking pictures with left will do that to you! Anyway---next time I will just do a video---that would have been tons easier---well I guess you live and learn right! Notice that this stitchery is already framed---you can chalk before framing or after. I have found that it is easier to tape things down that are not framed---so it is held tight. First off here are the chalks I like to use----you can use any crafters/scrapbook chalk that you already have though. For the best deal on these chalks---Roberts with 40% off coupon!

I took all my trays apart and oranized them by color---so all the greens and such would be together. Start first with a medium to light green. I use a q-tip and my finger for my tools---there are fancier things available that work well too! The cheaper the q-tips the better---since the tips are more firm.

Apply color next to your stitches--highlighting the left side and base of object. When you apply color, start soft until you are comfortable. Apply in circularmotions pulling in toward the center of the object.

Next, we do the same thing with a darker green to highlight the tree a little more and give more dimension to the object. We will follow this with a brown tone to blend with your tea-dye effect. I typically use about three colors on every object---after blending with q-tip follow with your finger to really adhere the color to the fabric.

Same with the trunk---use a light brown and then dark. Star is optional, since you can use a star button or stitch it filled. The ground you can apply a little white for snow.

Here comes the Snow Plow!!!
We woke up this morning all anxious to hang up our Christmas lights----but instead we found a beautiful blanket of snow to play in! The boys gobbled down their oatmeal so they could go outside and help daddy shovel! Mace was the first to get out there and the last to come in! He loved playing in the snow and can't wait for skiing and snowboarding with daddy! Keston was without a coat----so I layered him up and let him stay out a little while and went shopping today so he can play longer next time. The snow was perfect for snowballs and sledding really fast on the slick sidewalks and don't forget the cool snow plow---too much fun---wish you all were here!

Potty Time!

I hope I don't offend anyone with this potty talk---but thought it was too hilarious not to share! A couple of weeks ago when I put the boys in the tub---my little guy Keston, said "potty" and proceeded to climb out of the tub, stand in front of the toilet, and pee all over it! Mace was disgusted as he yelled---"he made a big mess mom!" Keston was just so proud of himself that he finally got OUT of the tub to pee. Well, on Monday night as I was bathing the kids---Keston again said "potty" and I helped him get on the potty and we all (Mace and I) waited with anticipation-----until we herd the sound---"he did it mom!" Mace was so proud of his little brother---so I had to quickly dash for the camera to capture the moment. I put Keston back in the tub as Mace stands up to double check that Keston really went and says,"MOM HIS WATER IS YELLOW JUST LIKE MINE!" It was a great laugh for the whole week and I guess it is time to start potty training boy #2!

Both of these little guys have their Daddy's name for their middle name and are just a couple months apart. Both of them have the same girlfriend---Grandma Susie (Kooper is a little more territorial over her though----or I should say a lot more territorial!) They both are little cuddle bugs too! We just get a kick out of their looks though----completely opposite---but both as cute as ever! We sure love you Kooper and wish you lived closer to us!

We had a wonderful time in Burley for Thanksgiving this year! The food was delicious as always and it was just fun to be with our family. John enjoyed getting away from the computer for awhile and helping Papa Dave at the feedlot----he came home a new man! It is amazing what that IDAHO air does for a person! Mace and Keston loved playing with their cousins and finding all of Grandma Susie's snacks. I just loved being home:) John even got to carve the bird this year---he was excited! Papa Dave worked on the ham---but note that they were under Susie's direct supervision!

Frames! Frames! Frames!

Well, I just thought I needed to post a little tribute to my sister Jen! She is a crazy busy mother of five and I have no idea how she does everything that she does. A little back ground on these photos-----when I started designing stitchery patterns we needed a way to get our frames cheaper---so Jen decided she would make frames for us and it would be a perfect job for her kids to help with during the summer! Well, she does amazing work with frames --- as she does with everything else in her life----so needless to say she has been keeping very busy. I had to stop by on my way to Burley for Thanksgiving to pick up frame orders. Jen came to the door all bundled up in hoodie and stocking hat---since she is cutting frames outside in the cold! I told her she was crazy! The house was quiet, so she directed me downstairs to find the kids watching a movie as they painted frames together! What troopers---notice all the SMILES! I love you guys---Jen, Larry, BreeAnn, McKayla, AuBrey, Jaxon, and KarLei --- (notice that Jaxon is the smart SUPERVISOR sitting on the couch watching his sisters work!)

Yes, I know I am a little late---but still new at blogging---so it is okay right?!? Anyway, it is now nearly Thanksgiving, but I still wanted to share our Halloween pictures since we have had so much fun looking at all the other blogs! Little Keston was our cute little pumpkin---or "pumpkinman" as Mace would call him. Mace was of course Spiderman---and really got into his role by throwing pretend webs from his hands everywhere we went! John was a last minute Green Goblin with the spraypainted hair and I was Spidey's mommy---with black hair with spiders in it. I guess that will teach me to be more prepared next year---because it was quite the stretch! The boys both had so much fun this year----but I think their favorite part was answering our door for the trick-or-treaters!

Even though the last game wasn't anything to talk about---we are still die hard JAZZ FANZ! We had so much fun with Grandma Susie and Papa Dave at the Jazz game on the 7th---we were standing up through the end---what an exciting buzzer beater this one was! Mace kept track of 'his guy---Memo' the whole game. Since he just got a new jersey, as his old one was handed down to little brother. Papa Dave tried to talk him into a #8 for Williams----but the jersey had to have a #3 in it----so go #13!. Keston's favorite part of the game was definitely the popcorn, grapes, and gummy worms----sounds delicious doesn't it! He went from lap to lap checking out what snacks everyone had---and of course, loved watching the JAZZ BEAR! Mace loved sitting on Grandma Susie's lap and locating Memo on the court---and on the bench as well. When Memo was on the bench Mace would call it his "time out rest". He knows that word pretty well! Anyways it was great family fun---Thanks for the tickets Mom and Dad!

Quick Year in Review...

Well, just thought I would try this out since I am terrible about keeping in touch with everyone and I have been enjoying the updates from all of you who inspired me:)----I guess we will just see how time consuming it is. We have now been in Lehi, Utah for almost a year now. We have grown to love our new home and ward----but of course still miss all our friends in Logan and hopefully this will help us to keep in touch better. Some of our favorites this past year in a quick year in review...

#1---Hawaii Cruise!
Definitely number one since we didn't have to pay for it! Thanks Papa Dave and Grandma Susie---the whole herd of us went in February 2007---16 Adults and 28 Kids! You can imagine all of the looks we got everywhere we went:) Here are the boys and Daddy on the temple grounds---so beautiful! Mace thinks any body of water is Hawaii----so our first time going back to Burley, Idaho after our trip to Hawaii----we crossed the bridge over the Snake River, and Mace points to the water, "It's Hawaii Dad--we are here!" So we go to "Hawaii" about once a month now---thanks to the Snake River!

#2---Back Yard Fun!
We love having a FENCED backyard! The boys enjoyed playing in Mommy's garden, digging in the sandbox, and of course playing baseball! Daddy is starting them young----I am shocked we didn't have more accidents with a bat in both of their hands!
#3---Duck Pond!
We found a beautiful, secluded pond area with trails around---the boys absolutely love going there. Whenever we get to the heels of the bread----it is time to go and feed the ducks! Just this last time we found that one trail lead to a playground and another to a little waterfall----so now it is even more FREE fun!
#4---Attempt at Camping!
I say "attempt" because the only time we all slept in the tent was in the backyard! Anyway, maybe next year will be a better experience and we will get out more. The boys love being anywhere where there is dirt as you can see from Keston's face (couldn't figure out how to rotate his picture)---so I think camping is for us! It is great to get John away from the computer and I can't stitch with the dirt----so it is a great get-away for all of us.

We have been enjoying the fall weather and I will have to get some new pictures up soon----just realized we really don't have a current family picture---so I need to get on that among all the other things. We are so thankful for all of our family and friends and hope you enjoy our blog and I will try and write more soon. Take care---
